A 777 arrives at JFK from Germany, and upon landing, goes dark. Everyone on board is dead. Dr. Ephraim Goodweather, a CDC specialist, is called in because it is believed that an unknown virus killed the passengers. In fact, an evil vampire has killed everyone and is well on his way to infecting all of New York. A good read, even if you don't like this sort of thing!

Both are suffering from the loss of their eleven year old son, Milo. A whimsical tale, full of whacky characters. Charming and sad.
